Margo and Millie
were adopted by the Jim Woods family from Grand Rapids, MI! They
are shown here at their new home with the Katie (on the left) and
Sarah Woods!
Below is a letter we
received from the girls on January 23, 2006:
Thanks Katie and Sarah! we love
hearing news about our TPDR Donkeys!
Sharon,
Katie and I just wanted to send you some recent pictures of the
girls along with their new pasture buddies, Libby, Ace, Miki, and
Destiny (from left to right in the last picture).
The girls are doing well. Millie has been awesome for everything
we've done with her. About a week ago she even had her first
"rider," one of the little girls that normally rides my pony,
Destiny. We just lead her around while Monica rode for about 5
minutes. Its so funny just to watch her too, she's so much smaller
than the horses but she doesn't seem to notice, she runs and plays
with the horses all the time (Margo following close behind) ...
occasionally she even chases a couple of them.
Margo is good too. She's a little slower than Millie but she's
getting there. She trusts Katie and I as much as Millie does but
she's still a little more timid around! d new people, unless they
come with treats, and she isn't quite as brave with the horses.
She's getting good about handling too. I can bring her in the barn
alone and brush her and she will go for little walks away from
Millie as long as we go her pace, which is pretty slow.
They've been so much fun, we love going down to the barn for the
night feeding because they both start calling the second they see
us. You were right about the neighbors too, they love them. The
donkeys have had more visitors in a month than the horses have in a
year.
We'll keep you posted on how the girls are doing but I think you
should know... my dad still talks about Clyde. We're talking about
moving for more land and he says if that happens we'll have to go
back for another donkey and he's hoping Clyde's still available.
