Donkeys Adopted In February 2008

Noble has been adopted by Tim & Peg Hickey of Ashland, Ohio

Congratulations!!

Noble meets his new family and prepares for his journey "home"

***UPDATE**

02-26-08

Hi Sharon,

Quick email regarding Noble.  He seems very adaptable to anything!  I think he is going to be quite a character.  Nothing seems to faze him.  My half-arab mare is not too sure about him yet.  She is too concerned about protecting the little miniature.  The next time we put them out, it will be just Noble and my mare until she gets used to him.  I know she will come around in due time because she really doesn't have a mean bone in her body.

The first time he brayed it scared the horse and our dogs.  You were right, he is very vocal.  I'm not in the barn very long and he starts in.  So funny. He loves the attention.  Our grandkids think he is wonderful.  He can be a little pushy when being led, but I'm sure in time that will improve.  Doesn't much like the dogs around him!  I think he will be territorial which is one reason I wanted a donkey, so that is good.  Thanks, Sharon for all that you do for the donkeys.

Take care,

Peg Hickey

**UPDATE 06-03-08**

I wanted to update you on Noble and send you a couple of pictures.  We just love him!  We gave him a bath on Memorial Day and he was a perfect gentleman.  Never moved.  Of course, he never does as long as someone is grooming him or giving him some attention.  He is finally shedding pretty good. . . .I was beginning to wonder if he was going to.   He's not real crazy about me picking at his hooves and taping them up but he's gotten a lot better.  His white-line disease seems to be in check.  We just need to keep having his feet trimmed until all the excess is gone. He is definitely territorial, but he seems to know that our dogs are okay.  On occasion, he still chases them out too.  So funny!  And he always waits for our mini before he will go out.  Can be very stubborn.  It's amazing how strong he is.  Anyway, just wanted to let you know how happy we are with him.

Thanks,

Peg Hickey

Conrad and Paco have been adopted by their foster mom Brenda Moyer of Mason, Mi.

Brenda has fostered these guys for the last year and has become so attached to them she has decided they must stay with her, TPDR Ben (adopted in July of 2005) and her handsome team of Percheron geldings.
