****Update 5-28-11****
I wanted to
give you guys an update on Mudflap. I couldn't be more happier with
him, as he is the kindest, most gentle soul I have ever come
across--animal or human. He stood for over a day at the fence when I
brought Ernie (my foster) home from being gelded...talking to him and
gently braying to him--I'm sure he was sympathizing and letting him
know he's in a safe place now.
He is
absolutely wonderful with the neighborhood kids, as well as with my
nieces. They all love to brush him and lead him around. I had a
bridle custom made to fit him perfectly, and I am sure it will be an
easy transition to riding donkey with his wonderful personality.
He is
the first to come up to me when I go in the pasture, and he always
puts himself away at night...even if nobody else is in or wants to
come in...as soon as I go out there and he sees what I expect he takes
it upon himself to meander into his stall and wait patiently for
dinner.
He has taught
his little brother Gus NOT to run away from me when I go out in the
pasture to get him, and they are never more than a few feet from each
other. I am sure that Mudflap will show Ernie the ropes once he has
healed from his castration and can go out in the pasture with everyone
else.
Thank you so
much for giving me the opportunity to foster for your organization, as
well as adopt Mudflap. I'm pretty sure the person who said dog was
man's best friend never had a donkey.
