Donkeys Available For Adoption

(Check here for information on how to adopt)

Moe

Moe was part of a twosome that came to us from their former owner located a bit North of us. The donkeys had lived in their previous home for the past two years. Due to both their owners inability to care for them as well as the fact that this past June, Curly developed a nasty sarcoid close to his eye the decision was made to place the boys with TPDR.

Castration was the very first order of business as well as pulling coggins, vaccines and micro chipping.

Update January 27,2012

This handsome fellow is now fully recovered from his gelding procedure that was done December 13th 2011.Upon leaving the veterinary clinic Moe went into foster care with his friend Curly as well as two foster brothers Rodger and Buzz Lightyear. It is very important that these former jacks be integrated into a group of other donkey geldings. First there are no lady donkeys around to distract the newly gelded boys, and just as important they are immediately told by the other geldings that "You do not come into our group breathing fire and behaving as if you run the show!" A much needed lesson in humility.

Our Moe is a strikingly handsome 5 year old. He is a heavy boned solid individual. He both leads and trailers very well. His manners for farrier work are great. He is a kind and intelligent donkey that will make a fine companion. He has been micro chipped and is current on all vaccines. He is in foster care with Jane Olney of Ortonville, Michigan.

If you are interested you can contact Jane for more information about Moe!
