Turning Pointe Donkey Rescue (aka TPR or the Rescue) makes no warranty with regard to the condition of the donkey except as stated on the Profile Sheet provided with the Foster Contract. The Rescue will monitor care and address concerns that arise during the fostering period and make any necessary adjustments to accommodate the foster caregiver and donkey.

Fostering will be approved upon inspection of Foster facility. Foster home will be expected to comply with the Rescue’s terms. In the result the Foster Home fails to comply/meet the Rescue’s terms, the Rescue maintains the right to cancel the Foster Contract, and make arrangements to remove the donkey from the Foster facility.

The following terms will apply:

Donkey will be provided with a safe, sturdily fenced area with access to clean, dry shelter, free from excessive manure.

Donkey will be given clean, mold-free hay, and constant access to clean, fresh, unfrozen water.

Health care for the donkey will consist of: up-to-date vaccinations, valid/current Coggins test (to satisfy local and state requirements), properly trimmed hooves, and the recipient of proper love and attention. Note: charges for these services will be covered by the Rescue.

All homes must comply with local, county, and state government requirements for ownership of animals.

All donkeys will be placed with another equine companion to fulfill their social needs; the exception being when a donkey is being separated for training and/or development of trust, and for socialization with humans.

No Jennet is to be used at any time for breeding.

No sporting games or any other ill behavior to donkeys will be permitted, including, but not limited to, roping donkeys or donkey basketball.

Foster home will allow Turning Pointe Donkey Rescue and prospective adopters to visit the donkey.

If the Foster Home is deemed unsuccessful at any time for any reason in its handling of a fostered TPR donkey, or it is found to be out of compliance with the TPR Mission Statement, the Rescue will remove the donkey(s).

The Foster Home will have first option of adopting any donkey it has fostered.

In case of medical necessity and emergency (as determined by a licensed veterinarian), the donkey may be humanely euthanized in the case that a Rescue board member cannot be reached.

Terms stated above are agreed by Foster Home and Rescue Representative.
