Works In Progress

OOPS

ZEKE

Meet Oops! Oops is a miniature mule gelding!  When we received Oops he was very scared of people and even sounds he was un-familiar with were quite scary to him. He has been doing better, letting volunteers feed him treats from their hands, and smelling hands. Very curious. He is now living in a great foster home! When we dropped him off we could see that he was VERY happy! Oops is a great little guy, just needs some love and healing.

Isn't he handsome?

Meet Zeke! Zeke is an appaloosa mule.

He still is very scared of people

and needs lots of work

before he can move forward and

receive a forever home. Slowly but surely this guy is doing much better now!

Update:.. Zeke is still very flighty when he is out in the pen or pasture, But , if we catch him he goes from crazy to as sweet as ever. Progress!

LADYBUG

KARMA

Cheyenne

Meet Ladybug! Ladybug was rounded up by the Bureau of Land Managment. The process is they have three chances to get adopted into good homes, after there three chances, they can be bought to go to a kill buyer. Ladybug is very sweet yet shy. She is not yet ready to be in a home. Meet Karma! Karma was rounded up by the Bureau of Land Management. The process is, they have three chances to be adopted out to good homes. Them, kill buyers have the opportunity to come in and buy the, We couldn't bare to let that happen! Our trainers and volunteers work with Karma, and the other five BLM's (Bureau of Land Management) and they are all very slowly coming around. Yet, they aren't quite ready. Meet Cheyenne! Cheyenne was rounded up by the Bureau of Land Management. She had three chances of a good home, once that time was up Cheyenne and her four best friends came all the way up to Michigan to live with us at TPDR. Cheyenne is still in rehab. She is slowly starting to trust, and now takes walks with us and lets us brush her out.

Lil Bear

Lil' Bear came to us from a large KY rescue back in November of 2014. All of the donkeys from this rescue were in desperate need. The group came in with heavy parasite loads, terrible hooves, and most were terrified of people. On top of all that most of the jennies are probably pregnant due to being housed with jacks.  The odds were stacked against us but slowly we are nursing the group back to health. Lil Bear is one of the most scared donkeys from the group. We are working very hard to gain her trust but she just isn't quite so sure yet. That's ok! We have plenty of time!

POPI

Lacey & Miko

Mocha

Meet Popi!

This sweetie has a big heart and lots of curiosity but, is very afraid of being caught. Our volunteers are slowly making progress with her. She loves a special little cookie and once caught, loves long walks and brushings. She is a sweetie, just needs some more love and healing before she is ready to find a forever home.

Lacey is from our big Kentucky rescue back in November of 2014. She along with 19 others came to us in desperate need of care. Filled with parasites, terrible feet and scared of people we had our work cut out for us! We have slowly been getting them back on the right track. Lacey also came in pregnant, and foaled a very handsome little boy who we named Miko. The two of them are doing great!

Update:.. Miko was adopted to a great home and Lacey is doing much better! She used to show fear and even aggression at times but, she now is letting people pet her head and ears. This may seem like nothing but for our sweet Lacey that is a lot of progress! Yay!

Mocha is from our big kentucky rescue back in Novenber of 2014. She along with 19 others came to us in desperate need of care. Filled with parasites, terrible feet, and scared of people. We had our work cut out for us! We are slowly getting the group on the right track. Mocha is absolutely gorgeous! Mocha came in very scared of people but, slowly is warming up to some of our vollunteers. Mocha had a gorgeous little spotted foal (9/6/15) that we named Precious. Precious was adopted when she was old enough but, our Sweet Mocha is still in need of some gentling. That's ok, we have time.

Cali

Mickey & Krusty

Sprinkles

Cali is part of our Kentucky rescue from November of 2014. She and 19 others came to us in desperate need. Loaded with parasites, terrible feet, and scared of people we sure had our work cut out for us! We are slowly getting the group on the right track. Cali is so beuatiful. How can you resist those soft eyes and gorgeous brown coat? There is also a good chance most of the jennys are pregnant due to being housed with jacks. Cali is very scared of people and needs lots of attention and patience before she will be ready for adoption. That's ok! We have time.

Mickey and Krusty are part of our Kentucky rescue from November of 2014. The group came to us in desperate need. Filled with parasites, terrible feet, and scared of people. These two boys in particular were in desperate need. Magic, Minnie, Mickey, and Krusty were all estimated to be 5-7 months old. They all had parasites so bad we didn't know if they would survive. Minnie and Magic passd away a few weeks after they were rescued, due to the damage the parasites had caused. We didn't give up. We kept fighting very hard for the other two boys. And they survived! Mickey and Krusty now live happily togther playing all day! The boys are so adorable and sweet.

Sprinkles is from our big Kentucky rescue back in November of 2014. The group came to us in desperate need. Loaded with parasites, bad hooves, and scared of people, we had our work cut out for us!  There is a good chance most of the jennys from the group are pregnant due to being housed with jacks. Sprinkles is so sweet! She is scared of people but she really wants to be loved. She comes up to the gate and smells our hands but she isn't comftorable with us petting her quite yet. We are confident she will come around soon, but until then she is not available for adoption.

Bandit

Zorro

Bandit came to us in great need. He is quite thin and needs a blanket on because he's cold. He is scared of people but he is getting more comfortable with our amazing volunteers every day. Once he's all healthy and happy he will be ready to go to his forever home! When we saw a cute little mule on Craigslist for very cheap we knew we had to go pick him up! What we thought would be a sweet, innocent little boy turned out to have a big personality! He was very agreesive at first, kicking, bighting, rearing, etc. Turns out that he was just terrified of people at the time. He still is scared but, he is willing to learn and is very curious about people. When we get him on a halter and lead he is very sweet and laid back. He still needs some gentling and training before we can adopt him out but, we are confident that he will come around soon enough.
