A very special thank you to a few of
our TPDR volunteers.
We couldn't do this job without them!!

AKA Sunshine foaled in
1971 with neighbor and tractor driver / spreader operator Danny
Showers (age unknown!) |

|
Danny Showers is shown again here
with a few of our long ear friends. |

|
David Showers, Danny`s nephew, second
in command on the tractor, mows, bales, and gets our hay into the
barn, shovels and spreads countless loads of manure and helps with
whatever emergencies come up. AND THERE ARE MANY! |

|
Renee McCammon of Mason, Mi. helps with a bit of everything from the
pitchfork to the computer. |

Shown above and below is
Brandy Barnes and TPDR Mickee Mouth. Brandy is here from
Massachusetts, and is a veterinary student at MSU in East Lansing,
Mi.
Brandy hopes to go into a
cat practice upon graduation. Somewhere along the line, she became
enamored with donkeys and landed here as a volunteer. She is a
great help and a wonderful gal to boot. When not shoveling and
doing other mundane farm chores, I frequently catch her hugging up
all the donkeys and passing out the TREATS! Obviously the donkeys
are nuts about her!
|

Shown above is Penny
Smith of Spring Arbor, Mi. She is one of our most recent
additions. Penny (along with Mr. Don below) just appeared one
day and announced they wanted to help with the donkey rescue.
What a blessing!
Penny
helps wherever needed from endless pitching to assisting the
vet, to raising awareness of the endless needs of our group. She
and her husband just recently sponsored two of our donkeys as a
birthday gift to each other. Nice going! She is one of those
really warm, friendly gals that everyone just seems to want to
be around. Lucky Us!
|

Shown above is our other newest volunteer Mr. Don
Skinner of Parma, Mi. (Also new foster Grampa to TPDR Smokey)
Don's alias should be TPDR Mr. Fixit. You know the type----The
donkeys break it and Mr. Don Fixit is right behind them to do
necessary repairs. Each time he prepares to leave for the day I
catch him having a quiet conversation with certain donkey foals.
I have overheard him telling them how very lovely and special
they are. It has done wonders for their self esteem. Don has a
lovely wife Sandy that will be here when time allows. On her
last visit I observed her KISSING several donkey noses. She
appears to be a very soft touch.
